As for slide its really not too useful for "conveniently" changing forms outside of completely casual play, the difference in total spread between each mon's forms means that efficient use requires eving all over again at best (most forms want radically different natures). At worst you need to breed or rng seed for entire new IV's/Natures/Movepools. Competitively slide is just a way to grant out some truly bullshit movepools.

I think it's more like Ubers/Anything Goes Here on Smogon - It's nice and fun, but there's no such thing like balance and playing some "serious" (as much as serious can be playing touhoumon competetively, lulz) stuff like tournaments in it would be... sad.

Speaking of ballance, I think TPPE metagame is pretty much balanced already.. Most Puppets/Boneka are viable in their own way. Also, there are some puppets available in TPPE who actually support competitive touhoumon (e.g: SG-Sanae as Politoed and EX-Marisa as Mega Charizard Y/Ninetales). And yeah Touhoumon Tournaments would be really fun!
