What are the best hold items?

What are the best hold items for all the different roles, and where can i find them? Ive just been using red rings and blue earrings as of now due to lack of knowledge on whats out there.

Once you beat the game, there is a guy who sells the high end items like life orb (straw dolls in this game) west of the Youkai Mountain gap point on the way to Kasen's house. Rinnosuke also sells a few decent items that have some use.  As for charms (berries) some are found around the world and the rest are bought from the peddlers scattered around the map in the rest huts etc.
