Can't update the game?

Hello. I got TPDP awhile ago, but I actually never thought of patching it until now. I was patching the game fine until the updater somehow stops itself? I asked my friend to translate what it said when the updater stopped patching the game, and she said it was something about the files being too outdated. I find that a bit weird since an updater is supposed to 'fix' files :v. I'm worried the installation went wrong somewhere, but I don't know at this point ;;. Also for some weird reason, Every time I re-run the updater, I think it gets a bit farther in the patching process, but it still breaks in the end.
If it helps, I'm running the 1.00 -> 1.10 extractor with Windows 7 (with Japanese locale, not Applocale).
If anyone needs some sort of logs for whatever reason, I can post them. Thanks in advance!

First of all I am assuming you have the paid version as the pirated version that had been circulating can not be patched.

Sometimes if the patch stops working before it can finish everything will break and you can no longer patch so the only thing you can do is either re install or paste a backup copy of the dat files over the partially patched files to revert the changes and then run the patcher again. I have also noticed that some versions sometimes don't work with the patcher like going from 1.19 to 1.20 so if you had used some patches awhile ago that may be the issue, either way it should fix if you simply reinstall the game and run the patch on new files.

I think the pirated version can be patched too, I think you might have to edit a file in the Appdata folder, but the extractor might give out the same error I'm getting. I dunno since I don't actually have the pirated ver.
Anyway, I'll see if reinstalling helps. I'll edit this post if anything happens.

Did you install the game while your system locale being Japanese?

I also have to ask what Kei did. Installing the game with sys locale as Japanese seems to have fixed alot of patching issues people have had. I'd do that first, the let us know from there if it's still failing on the patch.
