Skill Card Translations?

Most of the Skill Cards are in english kana, so I would translate them, but
the current translation confuses me:

Why do we write the japanese name and then the translation in brackets?

Is the Japanese name important?

(Mainly asking this for the shop lists, who just give you one line to write something.

I wrote them like that for reference and never finished, I forgot to remove them. In the end, they'll need to be translated entirely.
