Story Dialogue 001-007 & 021-022 & 033-052
« on: January 01, 2015, 01:26:19 PM »
Since this is where I am in the game, I translated this dialogue section (meeting Rinnosuke and him telling you to go talk to Alice).
I don't know if you guys want this in a specific format though, so I think I'll stop translating until someone says it looks fine.
Also, I am far from fluent in Japanese, so there are things I cannot translate. Luckily, this part didn't seem that hard.

The entire folder is included in the .rar, so extract contents to \dat\gn_dat3\script\talk wherever your TPDP folder is located.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/dc6d7efd24ifjc2/001-007%26021-025%26033-052.rar

EDIT: Added all my story translations to the file. Only includes 4 folders. Dialogue included is 2 Rinnosuke files, 1 Alice file, and 1 Meiling file. Formatting might not be consistent.

EDIT 2: Made some edits in terms of punctuation. I removed the Japanese punctuation and added spaces to stop some words from breaking between lines for files 034 and 035 only. Also, 052 has some Japanese I didn't translate. One is a sound effect for Meiling sleeping and wasn't sure what to do with it. Another I need context for. Not sure why SMD dialogue is right after the Alice and Rinnosuke dialogue since the Bamboo Forest is next. I can't check it since I haven't gotten there yet.

EDIT 3: Added Talk Scripts 001 through 007. I avoided 000 due to the amount of dialogue there and I don't know if it's necessary for the actual storyline.

EDIT 4: Edited more. Added more files. Fixed formatting. Haven't tested these dialogues yet (with the new formatting), so if anyone has issues then tell me. I skipped 020 due to not knowing the context. It's only one line, so someone else do it if you will. I don't know what it affects (which would give the context).

EDIT 5: Possible last update from me. Finished Medicine's dialogue, but won't be able to work on it tomorrow (unless very late tomorrow). I'll try to translate when I have time, but I won't know what else has been translated without people listing their progress.

The text seems to scroll down to the next line in the middle of words. Only way I can think of fixing this issue is by adding spaces. Don't know how everyone would prefer to handle this issue though. Here's an example of the translation in game:

Well, from the first look, I say it looks great!

You are translating way better than me (What is not a difficult thing, but whatever)
Keep translating.

The only things that bother me are the ・・・'s and !'s.
Couldn't they just be normal one's?

...But I guess I'm not "you guys", so let's see what other people think.

Yeah, that was kind of annoying me, too.
I think I'll change all the punctuation to the English counterpart.

Also, I am not capable of translating everything on my own. I lack the knowledge. I need context in order to make a decent translation.

The punctuation must be the "usual" ones.
Since otherwise there might be problems displaying the text.
Also, western punctuation takes less space, which is also an advantage.

That's why I always translate while playing the game, basically like you're doing it^^.
But I'm not really in the mood playing TH-Puppet yet, even though I was so anticipated when I played the trial...

I don't know if it's enough context for you, but if it helps, I could write a "text-backlog" of the scripts while playing...

(Something like this->Docs Document)

I think playing the game while translating is helping, so I don't need a text-backlog, but thanks for the offer anyway.
To be honest, I don't know how much more I can translate since I have to go back to uni next week.
I want to try getting the files between 007 and 033 translated before then, though. May not have enough time, but I will do my best.

Also as soon as the first line the name of who's speaking instead of ? ? ? is a scribled mess of HHH or something. These as well as the gender select screen. On the second one, if you scroll to the right you will see Yukari says: After hearing this, what will you doH.

That's strange...
Some of my files do have random letters in it, but it shows up fine in game when I go to check it out...
Are more people having this issue?

I believe my translation begins with Yukari speaking to you in your sleep.
I've gotten up to the first battle with Marisa and am almost done with this scene.
Marisa speaks in a strange manner so it's been kind of difficult.
Some parts I wasn't sure how to translate or even what she was saying, but I did my best.

I found this in file 00104. I also found some erratic spaces in a few translated scripts.

Yeah, I only realized today I could just press enter to reach the next line.
So I stopped the erratic spacing. So I'm trying to edit my previous files now.

I'm working on these as well at the moment, but there may be some item name inconsistencies, as I don't have access to the item list at the moment.

I probably won't be dumping my translations till I'm finished with them all, but don't worry, they will be finished! I have plenty of tine to work on these at work.

A friend of mine is also going to attempt working on the story files. I think at this point we should segment off who works on what so we don't have people wasting their efforts.
