Welcome to Project Locations!
Project Locations logo.png

Project Locations is a Touhou Puppet Play Wiki project which aims to create and expand articles on locations found in the Wiki supported Touhoumon ROM hacks. If you have any questions about how to contribute, ask on the Project talk page; we'll help you out.

Scope and aims

Project Locations covers all articles about locations found in Touhoumon (Japanese), Touhoumon Purple Version, and Touhoumon Unnamed Version. The ultimate goal is to create, expand and standardize articles for every location in these ROM hacks, ranging from cities to routes to other notable landmarks.

How you can help

Generally, you can help by opening the List of locations and selecting any location and expand it by adding any missing information. Most of the existing location articles need to be modified to comply with the project standard (see below).

Some articles may need pictures. Help them by adding a picture of the location. If you see an article without a location map in its infobox template, add one immediately. Also, some articles do not have an infobox template, if you come across one, add it immediately.

Structure

Locations should follow the following structure.

[edit] Infobox information

Articles should use {{Area Infobox}}, and all known information should be supplied.

The basic syntax you need to get a complete infobox on the article page, just place this before any other text and fill in the variables.

{{Area Infobox
|type=
|slogan=
|name=
|jpname=
|jptrans=
|image=
|size=
|mapdesc=
|cut=
|surf=
|strength=
|flash=
|rocksmash=
|waterfall=
|shadowdive=
|bike=
|mach=
|acro=
|gogoggles=
|north=
|north2=
|west=
|west2=
|east=
|east2=
|south=
|south2=
|regionmap=
|region=
}}

For the above parameters, here's what you should fill in:

  • type: is the type of place the location is located on, or what it is - land, road, water, or cave. This determines how the infobox is colored.
  • slogan: location's slogan (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • name: name of the location
  • jpname: Japanese name of the location
  • jptrans: translation of the location's Japanese name
  • image: name of an image for the location
  • size: pixel dimensions for image (optional)
  • mapdesc: description on the map
  • cut: is Cut required to traverse the area? (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • surf: is Surf required to traverse the area? (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • strength: is Strength required to traverse the area? (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • flash: is Flash "required" to traverse the area? (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • rocksmash: is Rock Smash required to traverse the area? (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • waterfall: is Waterfall required to traverse the area? (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • shadowdive: is Shadow Dive required to traverse the area? (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • bike: is the bicycle required to traverse the area? (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • mach: is the Mach Bike required to traverse the area? (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • acro: is the Acro Bike required to traverse the area? (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • gogoggles: are Go-Goggles required to traverse the area? (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • north: location to the North (optional; don't include if not needed. Required if north2 is used.)
  • north2: 2nd location to the North (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • west: location to the West (optional; don't include if not needed. Required if west2 is used.)
  • west2: 2nd location to the West (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • east: location to the East (optional; don't include if not needed. Required if east2 is used.)
  • east2: 2nd location to the East (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • south: location to the South (optional; don't include if not needed. Required if south2 is used.)
  • south2: 2nd location to the South (optional; don't include if not needed)
  • regionmap: location shown on region's map
  • region: the region that the location is in; Set as Kanto, Sevii Islands, or Hoenn

[edit] Main section

Untitled section that describes the location. Depending on the location, this section may just describe basic details regarding the area, or may go into considerable detail. Regardless, all text describing the location should be in this section.

[edit] Items

A list of items found in this location as well as a description of where the items are. These are to be placed in dot points with a short description on how to find it.

[edit] Puppets

A list of Puppets that appear in this location as well as encounter rates and times of encounter if possible.

Lists should be organized in order of location, then highest to lowest encounter rate. If the encounter rate for a Puppet is lower in a different game, a repeat of the entry should be made directly underneath except with that particular game highlighted (instead of in the initial entry), and the different encounter rate stated. In the case of multiple Puppets with the same encounter rate, Puppets should be listed in order of games they are available in, then their Touhoudex number.

[edit] Trainers

A list of trainers, using the appropriate template.

[edit] Secondary Locations

If a smaller location exists within an area, such as the Scorched Slab on Route 120, information for those areas go toward the bottom of the page.
