Help with a technical issue
« on: December 02, 2015, 08:54:28 PM »
Alright, I found about this game a few days ago and was pumped to see my favourite romhack made into a legitimate game as this. Happily, I download the prepatched mediafire version and start the game, only to find out that the keys for down and right are constantly pressed down, leaving the game unplayable. Even if I am to minimize the window, I can still see the menu scroll endlessly downwards. Going into keybinds menu in settings prevents all inputs and hardlocks the game.

Working keys: Up, left, Z, X, Spacebar
As I can't leave the trolley, I can't test if the menu keys work. The only reason I know that right is also pressed down is due to how the volume settings roll that way whenever the endless downpress passes over them in the settings.

Here are some of the things I've tried to fix this with, none of which have worked:
Japanese and English versions 1.00, 1.10, 1.20, 1.34
Installing the game, both in the default and custom path (I'm desperate)
Every possible combination of plugins (different keyboard, mouse, controller. The problem persists even if no device capable of inputting commands is plugged in)
Every possible compatibility option (protip: don't try windows 95)
Safe mode (Crashes)

All drivers are up to date, no software finds any virus or malware in the computer, and this problem is only for this game and is the first time I've met with it or anything similar. If anybody has any ideas on what the problem could possibly be or any hints on how to fix it, I'd be most grateful.

Thank you for your help everyone. I figured out the problem.

For future reference, if anybody has the same problem, my first advice is to check if you have vJoy or similar gamepad emulator installed. It doesn't necessarily need to be active as just the installation alone can interfere. A simple uninstall fixed the issue.
