Is anyone else having trouble with the text in this game? A lot of the item descriptions (and especially the Puppet Book entries) seem to extend way past their text boxes. Do I need to install a certain font to make it work, or is this problem unique to me?
Spoiler

Yes:

Furthermore, this game will only work in Japanese Locale. Your computer either needs to be in native Japanese Locale, or you need to have Locale Emulator (specifically, NOT AppLocale) to emulate the game in Japanese Locale. Otherwise the game will display corrupted text for the HP Bar and other places. When you install the game you must ALSO install it in Japanese Locale, or else the game will have crashing issues.

I know. I'm using Locale Emulator every time I boot it up. In fact, the game crashes on start-up whenever I forget to use it.

Hey I'm sorry but, I'm having problems to download beat from that link (because my computer tells me saying that its gonna warm my it) so it redirects me to another page. Can someone upload it somewhere else or something? Sorry for the trouble! You guys are amazing, I was very excited and now I can finally play!

*facepalm* Right, my Os has those type's of issues... Well, for what its worth, I can still boot up and play the game. Updating it is no issue either. Beat crashes during the patching process, but from what I can tell, in the "eng_dat" file, part of data arc 2 and all of 3 go un-patched. Also, all 3 seem to become corrupted in some way(thank you backups...). Not sure if any of this helps...

A bit late to be answering, but for what it's worth that sounds like a problem I was having. I tried running beat to apply the translation and it would crash halfway through, and trying to run the gn_enbu.exe that turned up in the eng_dat folder would come up with an error message warning me that the files had been corrupted. It turns out that I had a copy of the gn_enbu.exe from before patching the game to 1.34 in my dat folder. When I replaced it with the updated version the patch ran smoothly and the game works properly now. Not sure if that's the error you were having, but I hope it helps.

Version 1.01 of the patch is out now! This fixes several things in the base release, and the best part is it no longer uses beat to apply the patches!. We will be using this patching method here-on-out. I highly recommend people pick it up!

Unfortunately, no news on Yume no Kakera's translation just yet. Things are still in internal discussion.

Does anyone know is there is a locale emulator that does work with the game?

All the locale emulators i try give me a "Game Data Invalid. Please reinstall the game" error.

I should note that the game does run fine without locale and with applocale.

But neither fix the game texts.

Is the opening to purposely untranslated? I already updated it to the latest 1.34 version and patched it but it does not work

Translating the opening requires tools and knowledge we don't possess; We're looking into it for the expansion, but no promises it'll be translated there either.

I see, shouldn't it be noted in the OP post though? I was worried that I did something wrong with the patch installation

Version 1.02 of the translation patch is released! Most of it is backporting from Shard of Dreams's translation, though there are other fixes as well. See the first post for more info and a download link.

I downloaded the patch but my avast antivirus is saying it had a dangerous malware inside it. Is that normal?

I made an exception in Avast for it. I assume it has to do with the fact that the program causes unauthorized modifications to one of your programs (namely, the one you are trying to modify).
