@Greenmittenz You should try reinstalling the game from scratch. I think something went wrong with your patching and that's why you're get that error. (It's what I pieced together from what I could read in that message.)

Also thanks Agastya, patch works great. I was playing the game this whole time without any money because I was afraid to sell anything... No hold items as well because I didn't know what anything in my bag actually was aside from seal threads and a few potions.

@ScarletSky Thanks tried re-installing while my computer was already in japanese language settings, not sure if that was the trick or if I just needed to re install it but either way it works now.

Patch is working and looks great Agastya and now I can read numbers instead of trying to mentally translate OPQRSTUVW as numbers :).

I tried and it did not. Beat gave the error "patch application has failed".

This will likely only work if your copy is updated to 1.19, so keep that in mind.
I do the 2humons in RMXP

Hey guys. Guess what time it is?

It's patch time.

Here's hoping Hemo doesn't post another update in three days!

I can vouch that the patch works. Just got to the Human Village. Barring the occasional typo (which I should have print-screened), no real problems thus far.

I tried using beat but it gave me a "the application stopped working" APPCRASH error.

1. Selected 'partial translation.bpm'
2. Choose TPDP 1.34 dat folder.
3. Made another folder and selected it when asked for a second location.
4. Beat starts "working" for 1~3 seconds and then APPCRASH.

It creates files but they are corrupt.

I tried it once few days ago and it worked, but now that im doing it again (had to format pc) beat is giving me APPCRASH error.

Are you sure you followed everything step by step? I suggest reading the tutorial from the page 1 again and give it another shot. Try re downloading the patch and beat. I had no problem with patching so that's why I am telling you this.

To anyone getting confused at the vague and unclear as shit instructions, there's a discussion on how to go about installing the translation here. http://www.reddit.com/r/touhou/comments/39ra3n/touhou_puppet_dance_performance_english_patch/

I managed to install the translation patch successfully after some trial and error (the instructuons given here are indeed very unclear).

I know it is a partial patch but I didn't expect there to be still untranslated gameplay elements. I thought that was usually the priority. Good job regardless but I guess I will postpone playing this game until I can properly understand what is happening during battles.

I will keep a close eye on this translation project. Thanks for the efforts.

The untranslated gameplay elements are all in the exe, and those are blisteringly hard to translate. Our exe modifier is dealing with both a job and school, and they cannot afford to dedicate their entire time to it. This is one of he reasons we released it without a full translation.  But that's not a huge problem, since the wiki more or less documents what the moves do. The untranslated stuff is more or less flavor text, it's nothing you outright need to play the game.

i'm finding that for the most part, the only battle element that gets confusing due to being untranslated is if attacks are super effective or not effective,
other than that, for your own buffs, you can see what they do when you look at their skills out of battle
