It's been so many years since I'd last been here, I'm honestly surprised I even got my password correct.

I have just now found out that YnK has a complete translation, after giving up on the prospect of being able to play the game in English years ago (the last time I was here was around the same time as the "State of Affairs: November 3rd, 2017" thread).

Now I would not normally open a new thread on a board that seems to be mostly dead for a good couple of years, but I have a dilemma:
I really want to play YnK now that I know it has an English translation, and I really want to support FocasLens.
I know I must still have a melonbooks account since I bought the original TPDP and both OSTs way back when, BUT...
Melonbooks is constantly showing an error 403: forbidden message.
I cannot access the website regardless what I tried: changing my VPN server, changing web browser.
I've considered using DLsite instead, but the game is not showing on the English site and I can't use my DLsite English account with the Japanese version of the site.

I really, REALLY, don't want to pirate this game. But as it stands it feels like I have little real choice.
...But if I'm honest, I feel like I would rather not play the game than pirate it.

Can anyone here help me either:

• Find out why melonbooks isn't working for me.
• Find some other way of legally purchasing the game.

Any advice you can give would be appreciated.

From what i understand melonbooks now IP blocks foreigners so you'll have a rough time getting it from there.
Your best bet is probably to get it from the japanese DLsite, though i can't really give any advice there since i got mine from melonbooks before they banned foreign IPs.
I'd suggest going to the discord server for help though since this forum is pretty much dead at this point.

I would have thought using a Japanese server on my VPN would get past an IP block, though.
It seems strange that even doing that would fail, when it works on most JP-IP locked content.

I'm completely new to discord groups and I can't seem to work it at all.
I've posted a message to tpdp-main but nothing shows up and when I clicked on one of the other things down the side I lost tpdp-main and can't get it back.

Some places that IP block will also block known proxies and tor/vpn exit nodes and such.
I don't really remember what happened with melonbooks though so maybe i'm wrong.

In any case, the discord server has an anti-spambot thing. There should be a channel available called ask-for-verify-here with instructions on what to do.

Thanks, I managed to find my way in by copying what everyone else was doing on that verify page.

But when I got in and posted to the main channel I got 1 reply that amounted to “Yeah that’s a problem, but I can’t help you with it”.

I'm necoroing this thread a little bit just to announce to anyone reading it that DLSite recently updated how their website works and you can now use your EN account to access the JP site.

What this means is, I have now purchased Ynk/SoD via DLSite and am currently playing the game. And you can do the same.
There's an odd emotion inside me after all this back-and-forth. It's not really relief, it's not nostalgia, it's a kind of happiness I'm not certain I've experienced before.
