Layla's Amulet
« on: June 30, 2015, 04:06:54 PM »
Where can I find the item in the title? I've been to the haunted mansion and am already post-game, but I've yet to see any sign of this item.

Remember the room when the picture fell on the floor? Search the place where the picture fell. It's a hidden item there, not in the orb like others.
This is my signature. It's so cool. Worship me.

I still can't see it and I've looked in that area. When you say hidden item it must be really hidden lol.

The item is invisible. Search the floor tile that the picture landed on. If memory serves me right it's two spaces the right of the knocked over chair. Regardless it's not exactly the most useful item. The Ancient Lunar Sake does the same thing as far as I can tell and you can get that much earlier than Layla's Amulet.

Actually the Lunar Sake does an entirely different thing. Sure, in the base game Layla's Amulet was basically Cleanse Tag, but in the expansion it works more like Amulet Coin. It will double any reward you get after battle, which makes it exceptional when grinding Puppets in Hell since 6 Magic Crystals become 12 and so on.

Oh? I didn't know that... Still kind of useless to me since I didn't need to grind for anything (except a few levels before fighting Remi) on any of my runs. I've certainly never come close to running out of money, nor depleting my stock of Magical Fragments.

The point isn't for in-game grinding, it's for getting competitive items in post-game. Those things add up real fast! Especially if you want to make the most of the Battle Box and set up multiple teams!

I must be doing something wrong then... By the time I bring a newly reincarnated team up to level 100 (power leveling vs Hell fairies) I have enough cash to buy whatever items they need and then some.

Well you only need to go to Lv 70 on non-Realm Puppets since online stuff is pretty much all done at Lv 50, so it's probably just that you had to grind way longer than required :P. With some switching around it's possible to get a full team of 5 levelled in 5-6 battles, and if you're going at that pace you will probably not make as much money back.

I suppose that would be it. Going from 1 to 70 is a lot shorter than going from 70 to 100. I guess I just don't have a good reason to stop before hitting the level cap (already have more than enough puppets for competitive play, even though I don't play competitive anymore). Also I need 99 levels total per puppet to unlock their wedding dress (the real reason that I'm leveling), so immediately reincarnating a new puppet and then leveling to 100 is satisfying.
