So, today I FINALLY decided to really start playing the expansion after months of starting and dropping it because of other things.

One thing is bugging me tough: what are the locations of the new puppets?

Also: are the other puppets locations changed? So far I'm in Myouran Temple, and didn't notice any changes. I presume that with new areas, something was changed in the wilds as well.

Last thing: is it me or the game is much easier compared to the base game? Or the levels are more balanced, without going sky-rocket...or I guess this was done because of new areas/quests.

Another thing unrelated: How cute are the puppets when they are following you? :3

EDIT: Fixed the title of the topic and fixed the post.

Thanks for the answers!

Makes sense on Sukuna, even tough I though that was her first name...and Murasa is not her first name as well?! Totally didn't know about that!

Touhou Puppet Dance Performance / Writing differences?

I think it's more appropriate if I ask this here rather than the Translation Project, so...

I was wondering why the names of the characters are written in both ways: when they speak, is wrote in complex Kanji or whatever is the name, while in battle/menus, they are written in Hiragana...Something about programming errors? I'm glad that the names are written in simple Hiragana/Katakana: helps me to learn a bit of the writing.

Also, it seems that Kikuri and Shingyoku are written in Romaji...error on my copy? (I don't have the english patch anymore).

Last question: it seems that Sukuna is written as Shinmyoumaru, which is the last name. Do you know why?

I think it's safer to raise HP, because you have a fall in SP.DEF as well. You can try to cover that hole by using items/skills that raise defense.

Keep in mind that I'm not hardcore expert on Pokèmon/Touhoumon, and I don't play competitively, so my ideas could be totally wrong :D

It actually doesn't affect anything, the expansion is a standalone installation, but in order to run the game, you need the base game or it won't run.

The expansion will be Japanese while the base game is whatever you set the language to.

Makes sense.

Ok, thanks!

EDIT: Just started. Everything reverts to Japanese it seems...not a big deal.

I was wondering something: if I install the expansion on my english patched game, what happens? Does it work half English and half Japanese? (For skills manly) Or does it crash?

I'm really itching to play this, but the Japanese skills untranslated are holding me back...

Shinki because she's my favorite character in Touhou, even tough she's from the PC-98 era which is not known most of the time.

23
My take is that it's going to be a new file, so you need to re-download it.

I'm saying this only because the patch is 1.10, and we already had a 1.10 in the past (unless, it is a different patch that works, I don't know).

I'll do a list of my thoughts (keep in mind that I didn't watch the entire video, and I don't know Japanese):

- It seems that the first map is the Human village? They changed it.
- The map is bigger now, which means new places to explore.
- Puppet interaction is a thing now. Well, akin to Pikachu one in Yellow.
- What is that festival? I think it's kinda like Battle Tower from main Pokèmon games? I don't know much about it, since it's something that I never liked...
- They showed some online features I guess?

Welp, now I want this patch more. And it seems it's not a free patch.

Also, do we have a set release date? It's still 31st December?

EDIT: I didn't notice that the OP was changed, sorry for repeating the same things >_<

Can't wait for the patch, so I can restart the game. I want a starter with all S too!

I'll probably watch the streaming if I could, but I'll probably be busy with more feasts (Here in Italy we use to celebrate on the 26th, too).

Are you running from a folder that requires admin rights? If so, run as Administrator, that should fix the problem. Also, the game is incompatible with Win10 at the moment, you have to wait for the big patch that is coming out on the 31th December.

Are you patching from a folder that requires permission to edit? (Like Program Files) If so, you need to run as Administrator.

Another thing is that you could try is to run the patches from the "root" folder of the game (basically, where you can find the "Dat" folder and the exe of the game).

Also, you MUST install/run the game through Locale Emulator or System Locale, otherwise you will only have troubles.

Last thing: you seems to have Win10. The game is incompatible with it as of now, but it will be from the next big patch onward (the release date is 31st December).

Touhou Puppet Dance Performance / Re: Elite 4 Rematch farming

Wow, thanks!

Gonna try soloing with Aya then. If that works, I can farm 5 puppets!

And here I'm praying that the save will be compatible with the next patch...

EDIT: Works flawlessly! On to grinding like mad now.

Touhou Puppet Dance Performance / Elite 4 Rematch farming
« on: December 19, 2015, 07:41:55 PM »
Before I start, I want to ask: which farming spot is better between Elite 4 and Kasen's house? I mean in terms of EXP gain x give time. Meaning: which is faster?

I've spent the last 2 hours on figuring out a strategy to farm the Elite4 Rematch, and I'm pretty close. I can farm them with only 3 (AChen, PAya, PShinki) except versus Shinki, where I managed to beat her once. Otherwise, I lose against Shinki (Dat Shinkis in the last sentence). I generally use items during the battle, starting from Yumeko: That's another thing that I wanted to avoid, since it's a waste of time.

Of course, my PAya has Salvo + Twister, and the 5-hits earth move (can't remember the name).

A note: when I started, both my Aya and Shinki weren't at lv 100, and still managed to help me. Also, I had some lv 80s (PMokou, DKeine, SFlandre) which I occasionally used.

Now, I would like some suggestion on where I can fix things. Here are my notes, copied from my handy-dandy notepad:

YUKI

Use AChen:

SMokou - Waves of Earth
SFuto - Godspeed Air Raid
SSuwako   - Mist Fog
SUtsuho - Godspeed Air Raid
SYoumu -    Waves of Earth
SFlandre - Chrome Ray

Heal, because Chen should have a damage caused by Mokou's ability

MAI
Use Chen (my Aya now is almost 100. I have to try to start with her here).

SElis   - Waves of Earth
PNue (Camouflage as PRaiko)   Waves of Earth, finish with Godspeed Air Raid
PKasen - Godspeed Air Raid, she will resist and probably one-shot Chen. If that happens...

Switch with Aya
PKasen - Twister
DYuuka - Transcend Form
SRemilia -   Twister
PRaiko - Spirit Stone Jig

probably she can't take it. Switch with Shinki and finish things.

Heal

From here, is kinda random. My lv 80s (now 90s) help me out, and that's what I don't want. I want to beat all 4 with only 3 charas.

YUMEKO

Enemies weakness are (All CAPS mean a double weakness):

PSakuya - Fire Fighting Sound
PTenshi - Water Nature Fighting
SHijiri - Wind Illusion
PKokoro -  DARK
PMiko - Water Earth Dark Illusion
SYumeko - Fire Earth Fighting

Heal

SHINKI

Enemies weakness are (All CAPS mean a double weakness):

PMima - DARK
DYukari - Steel Illusion Sound <-- Tons of both Focus and Spread defense
PToyohime - ELECTRIC Poison
PYorihime - Fire Dark
PSariel - Steel Fighting
PShinki - Steel Illusion SOUND

Touhou Puppet Dance Performance / Re: Map?
« on: December 17, 2015, 08:17:03 AM »
Sadly, no.

Also, you can get the Fly map as soon as you hit Youkai Mountain. On the east side (basically, when you're descending the mountain) where the rest house is, you go east and then north, and you will find an abandoned town. You will find Chen there, who will give you the Gap map.

Hope my indications were clear.
