Translation project / Shard of Dreams - Bug Reporting Sheet
« : October 11, 2018, 03:17:34 AM »
Please only submit one issue per report. If you have multiple things to report, make multiple submissions.

It's been long enough since the release of the translation build, time to start addressing issues in it.
Please keep in mind, we will only be addressing bugs from the public release build, not the Leaked 99% Build or the Interface Translation Patch.

Your account has been approved. For future reference, if anyone wants to request an account, you can now do so on the discord server, as we have a channel specifically dedicated to wiki discussion.

I may no longer be in charge, but the translation project is far from dead.

Status of Affairs

We all knew it for a while but honestly it's time I stepped forward and was straight up: the project is not being translated, work on it hasn't been done in over a year, and nobody on the team really seems to care any further about the project itself. I can't blame them, it was a catastrophe from day one. Constant in-fighting, debates, the loss of team members because of such quarrels. Honestly, if I was an outsider, I wouldn't have wanted to get involved either.

I've done a lot of thinking on it, and I've made my decision: effective immediately, I am stepping down as head of the project. I am making the executive decision to put an end to this withering corpse once and for all. I was not suitable for the task of leading the project, and when the other head of the project left I knew it was basically dead. There's someone out there who can manage a translation project, manage a team, but that person absolutely isn't me, this endeavor has taught me that much at least.

I've uploaded the entire archive of what we had translated and what remained. Keep in mind, this is not the whole game, just the files required for translation. I do not know how to decompile the game, I do not know how to recompile the game. If someone else is aware, I encourage them to post about it in this thread.

I apologize for being quiet on this matter for so long. I had hopped that we could get a translator on board and finish the project soon, but unfortunately that didn't work out, hence why the decision has been made to end it here. Hopefully whoever picks this project back up will be able to complete it and allow people to enjoy a wonderful game.

The wiki has been moved to a new server, and we've fixed the user account registration process. I apologize for the delay in fixing this issue.

We really don't have any news to report at the moment; If we did, we'd report it. Everything is as glacial slow as it's always been because our translators are few and have lives outside of a project where they aren't getting paid to work on a for funsies project.

Trust me, if there's actually news to report, I'll report it as soon as I possibly can.

I'm not sure if this'll help, but a breakdown of how the individual map files work (which contain the wild puppets) can be found here

For the indeterminate future, account registration on the Touhou Puppet Dance Performance Wiki is broken. Please do not send in account requests until such time that it has been determined that the issue has been rectified. If there is anything in specific you wish to add to the wiki, please inform someone on the discord server that may potentially be able to add it.

I think that keeping the bridge might be a good idea? You should hop on by the Discord server and see what the others think! That being said, people still play Base 1.34 from time to time, even with the SoD translation. So there may still be a use for it? People don't seem to wanna touch SoD until story is translated, and I can assure you, that won't be done for a Long While.
Honestly I... haven't kept up with the Shard of Dreams netplay scene at all, so I don't know anything about it, so beyond my very weak opinion, I can't be of much use here.

We actually have an 'Official' save editor now, produced by someone on the team- or rather, we've had one for a while. is the link to it, it works with both Base 1.34 and the current build of Shard of Dreams.

Build 2 of the Interface Translation Patch is released; This patch contains some minor fixes that we overlooked in Build 1. A complete log of changes is provided with the download.

Version 1.02 of the translation patch is released! Most of it is backporting from Shard of Dreams's translation, though there are other fixes as well. See the first post for more info and a download link.

We'll look into doing the stat buff/debuff text for Revision 2, which we'll be working on somewhat soon?

As for the battle texts, the reason why we don't is because of the erratic update schedule of FocasLens, which cause us to redo work on the exe every time. Saving the heavy duty exe strings for last allows us to focus solely on that and push out an update for it as quickly as possible without needing to worry about FoLens updating between our Lengthy Delays.

FocasLens recently updated to Version 1.103 earlier today, so we can infer that 1.102 wasn't to be the final patch.
On a related note, we just released the Shard of Dreams Interface Translation Patch earlier, so you can pick that up in the pinned download thread! It will require 1.103 to run, so be sure to update before patching.
