Metagame Discussion / My Puppet Set [Base Game] : Speed Lyrica
« on: June 08, 2018, 08:33:26 PM »
Speed Lyrica
Page wiki : en.tpdpwiki.net/wiki/Speed_Lyrica

Type :

Ability :
- Free Will
- Moody

Base Stats :
HP
60
Fo. Atk
100
Fo. Def
105
Sp. Atk
45
Sp. Def
65
Speed
115

Overview
This is an example of budding sweeper. She has pretty high stats, but not enough to become a solo sweeper. But, if you are careless, and let her stat boosted even once, she can be a bane for your team. Because she needs support or prediction, she is pretty hard to set up.

Choice Sweeper
Move 1 :
Move 2 :
Move 3 :
Move 4 :
High Tone Crush
Dark Arrow
Midnight Specter / Shadow Javelin
Spark Javelin

Item :
Emblem :
Ability :
EV :
Good Belt
Red
Sound Absorb
64 FoAtk / 46 SpDef / 20 Speed

Explanation
This set can run by itself, but will work better with little prediction. Sound Absorb can boost her FoAtk further to increase damage output. With 217 Speed stat, she can even outspeed Green emblem Speed Aya. For the third move, you can choose either Midnight Specter for maximum damage output or Shadow Javelin for survival. Spark Javelin and Dark Arrow are coverage moves, which can be useful to attack Wind-type and Light-type respectively.

IV and EV
Speed Lyrica needs as much FoAtk as possible, so maximize her FoAtk stats. For Speed, with Good Belt, 20 EV is enough to outspeed all puppets. Lastly, put the remaining EV in SpDef, as she has pretty low SpDef stat.

Counter
If Speed Lyrica doesn't get her FoAtk boost from Sound Absorb, her damage output is pretty low for a sweeper. Because of that, a focus wall like Defense Kanako can counter her pretty easily.

Semi Tank (Requires Support)
Move 1 :
Move 2 :
Move 3 :
Move 4 :
High Tone Crush
Dark Arrow
Midnight Specter / Shadow Javelin
Spark Javelin / Frenzied Joururi

Item :
Emblem :
Ability :
EV :
Silver Hairpin
Red
Sound Absorb
64 HP / 46 FoAtk / 20 Speed

Explanation
Since Speed Lyrica is pretty bulky for a sweeper, she can wall a little damage, but that's it. To make this set work, she needs a little support from other puppets that boosts her speed. If a puppet can support her FoAtk and Speed, she can do much damage to enemy. As the moves, they are pretty much the same as the first set.

IV and EV
If you prefer her to be bulky, invest 64 EV for HP and 46 for FoAtk; but if you prefer damage, you can invest 64 for FoAtk instead.

Counter
Preventing her stats to be boosted is the key, even for the other set. Once boosted, she can destroy your team pretty easily. Because of that, defeating the supporting puppet proved to be effective. Also, prediction is important. Do not be careless if you are using Sound-type puppet, as she can easily activate her Sound Absorb ability.

Metagame Discussion / My Puppet Set [Base Game] : Assist Kosuzu

Assist Kosuzu
Page wiki : en.tpdpwiki.net/wiki/Assist_Kosuzu

Type :

Ability :
- Free Will
- Moody

Base Stats :
HP
50
Fo. Atk
30
Fo. Def
40
Sp. Atk
30
Sp. Def
40
Speed
70

Overview
Imagine, if you will, you a play a Pokemon game and you have Mew. But it has lackluster stats and the Pokemon game that you are playing doesn't need HM move. Well, you got yourself Assist Kosuzu. Even though she can learn all skill card moves, she lacks power to do significant damage. She can boost her power, but her low HP and both Defenses stat makes her rely too much on Black Choker or her Moody RNG.

Baton Passer
Move 1 :
Move 2 :
Move 3 :
Move 4 :
Imposing Air / Sharp Wind
Back-up Plan
Supernatural Border
Bout Drunkard

Item :
Emblem :
Ability :
EV :
Black Choker
Green
Moody
64 HP / 64 Speed

Explanation
A normal Assist Kosuzu set. This set is useful for supporting sweeper. The first move depends on which type of sweeper puppet that you wanted to support. Choose Imposing Air if you want to support FoAtk sweeper like Speed Lyrica, and choose Sharp Wind if the sweeper is SpAtk type like Power Luna. Supernatural Border can be used to get a Moody boost. Bout Drunkard is Spore in Pokemon, which a 100% accuracy Sleep inducer.

IV and EV
Make sure Kosuzu has S Speed IV. With S Speed and Green Emblem, also after a single speed boost from Imposing Air/Sharp Wind, she has 201 speed, enough to outspeed all unboosted 130 base speed puppets like Power Aya. No need to increase her defenses as she has horrible defense and HP stats.

Counter
Like all Black Choker users, she is very susceptible to priority moves. Also, like Moody users, she requires luck to perform well. If Moody decreases her speed, she is done for.

Metagame Discussion / My Puppet Set [Base Game] : Power Aya
« on: March 18, 2018, 04:13:17 PM »
This is my set on Base Game.

Power Aya
Type : Wind Fighting
Ability :
 - Gale
 - Salvo
Base Stats :
80 / 105 / 70 / 90 / 50 / 130

My Power Aya sets :

1. Mixed Sweeper
Moves :                                                                 Item      : Straw Doll / Black Choker
    - Twister                                                                Ability    : Salvo
    - Godstone Frenzy                                                  Emblem : Green
    - Rush Attack                                                         EV         : 18 FoAtk / 48 SpAtk / 64 Speed
    - Swallow Cut

Details :
This set is the most common set for Power Aya. With 200 Speed, Power Aya will outspeed most of Puppets. Salvo will make sure that Twister, Godstone Frenzy and Rush Attack always do 5 hits. Swallow Cut is useful for False Courage users like Defense Sukuna. The EV spread will make Rush Attack more powerful. Straw doll is useful to make Power Aya more powerful, but Black Choker is useful for survival.

Counter :
Sadly, this set is not without weakness however. Any puppet that that faster than Power Aya can defeat her quiet easily. Speed Aya, Speed Futo, Speed Marisa and Speed Chen are some examples. All of them are either Wind- or Electric- type, which will hit Power Aya hard, since she has horrible defense stats. Not only that, but a fast Up Tempo user like Power Cirno and Power Rin can beat her speed after a single Supernatural Barrier as well. Also, puppets that has high defense and HP stat like Defense Kanako can absorb most of the damage.

Paralysis, Darkness, and Fear is also a problem for this set. These status ailments will cripple Power Aya usefulness as a sweeper. Because of this, a team with cleric like Defense Daiyousei is also recommended.

2. Fast Sweep / Utility
Moves :                                                                 Item      : Burning Stone / Wolfsbane Root
    - Supernatural Barrier                                            Ability    : Gale
    - Reckless Dive                                                      Emblem : Black
    - Break Shot / Smash Spin                                     EV         : 64 FoAtk / 64 SpAtk / 2 Speed
    - Thunder Force

Details :
This set will solve Power Aya's speed problem. After a single Supernatural Barrier, Gale will active, and with 226 Speed, Power Aya will outspeed any puppet, even Green emblem 64 Speed EV Speed Aya. Also, since Power Aya is already Heavy Burned / Poisoned, this will eliminate any trouble from status ailments. The only sacrifice is that Power Aya will not hold out long due to her ailments.

Most of the puppets that faster than Power Aya are either part Wind- type or has medium to horrible defense stat, therefore, Thunder Force and Reckless Dive should do the trick. The third move are either Break Shot or Smash Spin. Break Shot is useful to counter Curiosity - Dual Screen users like Assist Magan, while Smash Spin is useful to remove traps.

Counter :
Again, high defense puppet can also defeat this set. Another thing is, this set is a double edged sword. Wasting turn will prove detrimental as the Heavy Burn/Poison will sap her health quickly. That means, an Attack Split users like Defense Yukari will indirectly counter this Power Aya set.

3. Suicidal Dual Screen
Moves :                                                                 Item      : Burning Stone / Wolfsbane Root
    - Supernatural Barrier                                            Ability    : Gale
    - Field Barrier                                                        Emblem : White
    - Field Protect                                                        EV         : 22 HP / 44 FoDef / 64 SpDef
    - Swallow Cut / Strike Shot

Details :
Since Gale Power Aya can outspeed any puppet, she can be useful as a dual screen initiator. Which screen that should be done first depends on the enemy's puppet. If the enemy's puppet has higher SpAtk, Power Aya should do Field Barrier first, and so on. With these EV spread, she can even survive after Green Emblem 64 EV SpAtk Good Earring Speed Marisa. Swallow Cut / Strike Shot is there as a filler move.

That is all. Please tell if there are any problems or grammar error. Any critics or suggestions will be appreciated.
