ROM Hacks + General Discussion / Parsee suggestions?
« on: July 16, 2015, 04:10:53 AM »
I've rebooted my attempt to plow through the plot of Touhoumon Purple yet again (I keep getting distracted by other games and then re-starting), and I'm rather curious to see how Parsee would best be used.

She's one of my favorite Touhous, but I'm not sure what her 'thing' is in this game is supposed to be...if she even has one.

Stats-wise she doesn't look bad. 80/80/90 bulk seems fine (the set page for A.Star Sapphire mentions similar defenses and says that's decent, but Star has recovery moves), that 120 S.Att is nice, and the base 70 speed isn't completely terrible. Her typing only leaves her vulnerable to Steel types and a painful double-weakness to Faith, but beyond that she seems solid. The real question is where to put EVs, and what moves to use.

Parsee gets a lot of good attacks (STAB Signal Beam, STAB Dark Pulse & Dream Eater, Poison Bomb, Surf, Ice Beam, etc) but also a lot of 'shenanigans', which I'm not sure if I should be using or not. Heart's Eye, Disable, Spite, Destiny Bond, Will o Wisp, and more all litter her movepool, and I'm not sure if they're gold or garbage.

I understand if this is the wrong forum for this kind of thing, but single-puppet info doesn't seem to fit the Teambuilding one. I'm pretty sure that Parsee's a good puppet, but I'm not exactly certain what makes her shine, or if there's some drawback to her (aside from x4 damage from Faith types) that I'm missing... I know I want to train one, I'm just not sure what way I ought to be training/using her.

Thanks in advance to anyone that bothers.

ROM Hacks + General Discussion / Portable doll-battles
« on: November 16, 2013, 06:22:51 AM »
I was just curious to know if anyone else has made their Touhou Puppet Play game of choice portable in some manner, as I use Half Byte Loader on my PSP to do so.

Grinding is far easier on a player when the game in question can be accessed at any moment of free-time since it's in your pocket/bag, and I know I hated being 'shackled' to my computer to play THPP a year or three ago, so a topic to help those who feel the same seems like a good thing to provide since it hasn't been mentioned to my knowlege.

The HBL stuff can be found here- http://wololo.net/hbl/ , and I must admit I'm not sure of any other programs to aid in this particular endeavor, aside from GBA-flashcart use, but I could never find a working one. Just curious to know what else there is, and throw HBL's stuff out there for those who can make use of it. PSPs are probably pretty cheap now that the Vita's out...

Teambuilding / Waifu team advice
« on: November 14, 2013, 05:54:36 PM »
I know everyone else is posting 'complete' teams, but I don't see anywhere else on the forum where advice for making a team would be made available.

To make it very simple, I have yet to complete the plot of Emerald since I keep derailing myself/starting over/losing my save/etc, and would like to plow through it with a 'Waifu Team', but I'd still like that team to be solid all-around, so it doesn't *all* have to be Waifus. Would just like advice/suggestions on how to balance a group of Waifus with other Touhous to make an acceptable team.

Ideally this would be a team without shard evo's, for ease of access throughout the plot.

Waifu List- Preferred puppets, team does not have to be made entirely of them, but would prefer at least three. Bolded puppets are particular favorites.
Momiji
Suwako
Parsee
Suika
Yuugi
Mokou
Ran
Yukari
Remilia

(I know several of them would do well in a sandstorm team, but have yet to make it work in the plot due to the one-sidedness of such teams.*coughTeamAquaspamssomanywaterypescough*)

Anti-Waifu List- Disliked/loathed/etc puppets, to be avoided in team creation. Bolded puppets are particularly disliked.
Tenshi
Kanako
Chen
Kaguya
Mystia
Shard Evo's in general
Anything with Hustle

Thank you for your time, and if this is the wrong part of the forum for such a request I apologize in advance. It can probably be moved by a mod or something. Would like to actually finish the game before attempting to delve into the metagame >.> I know anything can be done with enough grinding in-game, but I have always preferred a well-rounded team. I know a dedicated metagame forum is hardly the place to ask for such aid, but it's also probably the only place to find 'experts' on such a matter. In regards to previous attempts, the farthest I've gotten in the plot so far is the Weather Institute/Rival Battle immediately after Weather Institute. Thanks again.

Off-topic / I suppose an introduction is in order...
« on: November 14, 2013, 09:26:20 AM »
Yahoi, am Andaltmorf, or Morf for short.

I have played multiple Touhoumon games, and Agastya's is easily the most 'solid' of them that I've tried...even though I've yet to actually finish the plot of it since I keep re-starting whenever some dramatic idea takes me or an update hits.

Anyways, have started fresh again with the new update and figured I'd give the forums a shot this time...though I must admit I'm not entirely certain what (if anything) I can add aside from noobish requests for aid.

Ah well. I tend to 'lurk' since I'm not much of a forum-goer, but maybe that'll change for once. Maybe.
