Those are mostly advices for shortening:

Line 12: "infight", how about "struggle", I'm not quite sure if it fits here, also the description kinda sounds unnatural, how about: "Increases the power at low HP" or "The Power increases at low HP" ?
Line 15: Does it fit in one line if you cut the "the"? --> Cuts foe's HP in half.
Line 16, 17: Leave the "pierces", it simply says it halfs the enemy's Def.
Line 19: Short "Can only be used" down to "Usable".
Line 21, 22: Short it to "1/3 (1/4) of the dealt damage recoils."
Line 24: Change to "Preemptive strike possible."
Line 25: Shortable to "Boosted if user has..."
Line 26: Paraphrase it to "Double power if allied puppet was defeated in prev. turn"

OK, this is how far I'll read. The translation is correct (until the point I have read), however often very costly expressed.
IDK, how much space we have, but I thought I could give few suggestions.

I think we must not forgot that we are translating a doujin touhou game.
That means we're not trying to localize it, and seriously anyone who plays this game knows that 東方 is eastern culture and not western culture.
(Most people who play this game are either TH fans or/and Pokemon fans anways.)

I do understand your argumentation, but I just wanted to express my thought.

We still can throw any skill name (or other name) into debate.

I disagree.

If it doesn't fit, weh should try to abbreviate if possible (like in all the Rockman Battle network/Ryuusei series)
especially when the names are derived from official spell cards and since the wiki spell card are more or less the official one, we should not to grant to much liberty.

I'm aware that sometimes it simply isn't possible, due to Kanji VS RomanLetters.
And please don't use pokemon-skill-names, first of all, they are bad translation, second then we would put focaslens in a different light, like they just simply copied pokemon moves.

The punctuation must be the "usual" ones.
Since otherwise there might be problems displaying the text.
Also, western punctuation takes less space, which is also an advantage.

I´ve meaning to ask... is there an alternative way download the dumped gn_dat files 1.02? My computer doesn't want to download from MEGA.

I'm not quite sure what the problem is, but have you tried downloading with JDownloader?
IMO, MEGA is the most reliable host.
Also, we're totally OT

BTT:
Line 10-12: You wrote "up to [X] steps", so that means that it can repel for maximum of X steps, but doesn't necessarily needs to repel for X steps?.
Line 11: It should be "Talsiman" (singular)
Line 16:Has no reference to the outside world
Line 20: Maybe shortening "Solid gold that's been turned to dust." to "Gold Dust", the Japanese text only uses の
Line 24: "Unclear" --> "Unknown" like in 25. ("Unclear" and "unknown" are not the same)
Line 26, 27: "folds closed." doesn't sound correct, maybe "folded in half"?, otherwise the Nintendo DS reference is not clear.
Line 28: see Line 16

OK, I stopped at line 29.
Looks good to me, I'm just wondering if some descriptions are not too long...

属性 - Type - The elements of puppets and skills. For example Keine is a Steel-type puppet. Mud Ball is an Earth-type skill.
印 - Mark - Analogous to Natures in Pokemon.
散弾 - Spread Attack (SpAtk) -  Analogous to Pokemon's Special Attack stat
散防 - Spread Defense (SpDef) - Analogous to Pokemon's Special Defense stat
I always used to translate 属性 as "attribute", though type would also be OK, and probably will more likely to fit character-wise.
I'd translate 印 as "sign", it sounds more "magical-like" rather then "mark", imo.

The SpAtk/SpDef is OK, when reading the abrv. one will think it means "special" instead of "spread", maybe using another word like "scatter"? But that's just an idea.

To "Skill effectiveness" what do you need the mssg that appears when it occures, or do you need a tranlation?

But everything else looks good for me.

Well I didn't mean to run you off or anything. I've just been doing translations for awhile and I get... well, as stated previously: nitpicky.

Oh, no, no, it's not your fault.
I know what you mean by nitpicky.
E.g. I noticed that there are those who try to translates each word and their are those who try to translate it this way that it sounds "natural".
But I also used to like to translate every word, so that no content is lost.
But at some point it just sounded so unnatural, like when you try to translate gobis.
On the other hand I also don't like it how they translate Marisa's phrases, like with tons of apstrophies.
But in the end, that's how different Japanese is.
And I'm totally digressing...

As for me, translating is more like a practice to improve my Japanese skills, that's why I would like to help, but I do not have as many experience as other may have.

Thus, let's see how this translation project turns out, and let's see if I might be bored at some point and just translate some stuff.
Like all these one messages in the 000 folder.

To be honest, I was going to translate since I expected no one would translate this.
But after seeing how many ppl are making so many efforts in translating this game, I'm really wondering
why I should even bother...

Don't get me wrong, you're all doing good works.
But I think I just don't want to put my self under (even more) pressure.
Maybe I should just try to assist in translating, rather then translating on my own.

Yeah, アヤカシ always used to confuse me, since I was never sure if it was just a short version for 妖怪.
Anyways...

Hi everyone,

I was going to translate in the script text, so I was wondering how I should do it?
In the "gn_dat3\script\talk" path are several txt.files.
Can I just translate the text by replacing the Japanese text with the English text (and keeping the "\t,etc.") and then reupload the files here?
