Title: Moveset learning glitch?
Post by: Akoto on September 05, 2015, 11:16:33 PM
Hate creating an account to ask something on a forum and probably never using it again, sigh...

So, both according to the tpdp wiki and this database (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gVgrZT_HceVIqYuiHEBvs2WS-5Eu6AMrH8FVRNMf0Xo/edit#gid=0), KoishiA can learn Upbeat (Taunt) from a skill card. However, when I try teaching her that ingame, both through the Edit screen and through the skill card list on the inventory, it doesn't work. What's up? I'm using a legal copy, v1.34, latest english patch, etc etc. It seems to work as normal for the other puppets that can learn the move, too, so I guess it either got patched out or the info sources are wrong.

The wiki has a ton of false information due mainly to the game getting patched and that database is a very old database based on the wiki so they are both dated.

You can find a correct and much more usable database here http://thpp.supersanctuary.net/forum/index.php?topic=496.0
This is based off the official Japanese site and the in game files so it should all be correct with possibly a few minor errors here and there.

If you really wanted to get Upbeat on Koishi you could try copying your save to a older version (1.19 works as I just tested it) where she can learn the move then teach save and copy back over to 1.34. I don't think the game will let you go online with an illegal moveset like that but if you wanted it for story missions then it is certainly an option.
