Title: Avatar size
Post by: Colticide on January 03, 2015, 09:34:24 AM
Hello, I was just wondering what the maximum avatar size is on the forums. My avy is looking a bit fuzzy and I mean to get that fixed.

125 width x 150 height. If they're too large, they get resized.

Yours looks like it should be within resolution though so I have no idea what's going on. Try making it from the native sprite resolution instead of an upscaled one?

This is strange. I made a Remilia gif for someone here that's 102 x 110, but my Hime gif 100 x 108. I tried the native sprite but got blurry from the up-scaling. You think it the 2 x 2 difference?

The site is scaling a 50 x 54 image to 125 x 150 for some strange reason.

You can start with a canvas 125x150 to prevent it from messing with it.

It ends up smaller, but I don't think there is anything you can really do about it.

Basically its trying to fit 1 pixel in the space of 2.5 pixels. It gets automatically resampled and can no longer preserve hard edges.

Start with a canvas 125x150 to prevent it from messing with it.

You are a genius! I never thought of that!

EDIT: actually the one I was using before was a 100x108, but still not sure why the up scaling goes into effect when a 102x110 doesn't...
