can i just give it to attack chen instead

deoxys is a pain. i either have the initial one obey while its children don't or the children obey while the parent doesn't. i'll have to look at the scripts later and see what i can figure out, since i kind of want randomizer ones to obey too.

shenanigans man.

Quote from: FAQ.txt
Q: Why don't you just use Unown then?
A: Because it's more effort to edit than I care to put in, and I'd only get one extra slot out of it so if I did edit it I'd rather it be something I cared about, like a new stone evolution or something.
.... noooooo (http://www.nooooooooooooooo.com/), I hoped for a completed TouhouDex without the annoying "Unown Hole" for the new update with said slot being filled by something given either by Birch the second time

Questions related to the new update
- Is there a wild Puppet holding Chrome Shard ?
- Is there a "free" Chrome Shard like the Power from Granite Cave or the Defense Shard from The Trick Master ?

Question regarding Wild
- In the location.txt , the "altering cave" is missing
- Out of curiosity, what's the %rate :rolldice: of fishing a CToyohime in the Meteor fall 1F ? I cannot for the life of me fish even one and had to breed an adult one from deeper for the dex entry

General Question regarding "free" Shard founded during the adventure :
- Solar : Isn't the the one from the space center kind of useless ? By the time the player get to it, Safari ( Aka unlimited CYukari ) or the "Shard Trade House" east of Lilycove is available making it kinda useless by the time the player get it ( not to mention that a player finding it SO late will most likely already have a fully evolved his team and completly ignore it)
 - Swift : Chibi Rin and their unlimited supply of shard is available before the one in New mauville, rendering it kinda useless as well.

the free shards are probably for people who don't want to spend 30+ minutes farming for one shard. (well, 30+ minutes of CRin/CParsee thieving when my emulator's at 300% speed, I'm horrified to think of how long Cyukari, Ctoyohime, or Cutsuho would take to farm. ) Fair enough on the advent shard, as there ARE a few places where you can find red UFO's before you get to the UFO trader house, but one free shard isn't a bad deal.

As for toyohime, Advanced map says 15% with the super rod; and for Altering cave, I believe the encounter rate is 100% youki, levels ranging from 6 to 14.

Generally, I've noticed that most of the complaints I have regarding purple are either only relevant to nuzlockers (too many puppet lines being exclusive to the safari zone being the big complaint on that note.)  or just nitpicks. (such as why that Eirin thingy is still there despite the "no memes" comment in the readme.) Regardless of the nitpicks, it's still the best touhoumon hack I've played so far.

actually, i usually hunt my swift shard at 1000+ %, so i never spent more than 10-15 minutes before getting one. ;P

The free solar shard is not a bad deal indeed... but I wonder if any "normal/casual" player would actually ever bother with it : by the time the player get it, his/her team is probably fully evolved and so will probably dump the shard in the computer and never think of it again...
I honestly never ever bothered with an advent form until I though of trade-giving one from an older save to a newer save to try an Advent Alice.

.... and speaking of which, i discovered a strange thing with her : according to http://thpp.supersanctuary.net/wiki/Advent_Alice , she's supposed to be able to learn Thunderbold with HM24.... but cannot
Another strange thing : I saw a trainer-owned-Nazrin use Surf ( I think it was on route 105 ) but I cannot teach it to CNazrin nor to Nazrin.

15 % of meeting a CTotohime ? Seriously ? .... That girl must really hate me since I never ever fished a single one <_<

Another little thing : The removal of the S/ and the P/ from every attack description/text in the latest update prevent the player from knowing wether an attack is Special or Physical in the "tutor list menu". Granted, it's viewable once you start learning it and can cancel the choice, but it's kinda annoying when you don't know every attack like your backhand

... I'd also like to say like you that it's the best touhoumon hack I've played so far...
but it wouldn't mean much since It's the only I ever played =p

...probably should have pointed out that my computer can't exactly run most hacks at 1000%  the closest it gets to 1000% is, oddly enough, pokemon quartz, and even then it hits only 800% speed. XD

Advent reisen, I'm assuming. Also pointing out that you can get CLetty in shoal cave, and AdLetty isn't too bad.

.... and speaking of which, i discovered a strange thing with her : according to http://thpp.supersanctuary.net/wiki/Advent_Alice , she's supposed to be able to learn Thunderbold with HM24.... but cannot

on AdAlice, I think CAlice can learn it via TM, but loses access to it upon evolving to advent. same thing for dark alice. As for nazrin, I think there's a zigzagoon on that trainer that knows surf in regular emerald. I'm assuming it was supposed to be a nod to that, but I think Ctewi/tewi would make more sense there, as she actually CAN learn surf.

Replies in bold.

Leaf Blade and Battle Chant on ATenshi ? Surf on Attack Kaguya ? LUNATIC and Silverwind of SYorihime ?
Two ( and maybe more... ) battle in a row without healing inbetween ?Tenma, Sendai and a freakin X-Mon on said second fight ?

Could someone tell me if there's a point about this ( bad ) joke of a fight in the Souther island aside making the player consider starting cheating ?

They have EVs, too!

On a serious note, there are five battles, you get healed before the third and fifth ones. It's mostly just a jab at what "difficulty" hacks did, only made by somebody that hates you. It honestly is just a dumb super boss.

I want the player to lose, but I also want the player to keep coming back with more information than they had the previous time so they can get further in and get crushed again. It's extremely unenjoyable unless you like trial and error gameplay.

Also the reward is nothing but bragging rights.

Am I supposed to be able to slide between the Tewi shard evolutions?

I just noticed while filling up my Touhoudex. I could switch freely between Attack and Defense forms, but not with the Advent form. I haven't noticed any other puppets with this issue, so I figured you might have missed something. Just putting it out there.

Here's a screencap with a Power Shard:

Intentional, as it as present in JP.

Attack and Defense Tewi are the only forms that can slide, and they slide between each other. After all, she is a trickster.

Out of curiosity, what's fielded in the fifth fight ? The three X-Mon ? a DSatori ?

...or maybe a Skeleton with godly stats ?

... if arranging team wasn't so RNG dependant ( I spent 30 hour breeding at 1500% speed and I have yet to get a single "Wonderfully outstanding"...  ) and time consuming, i'd probably try and try again

actually, now that I think about it, something has been bugging me for a while...
Any idea why speed lily black is pure dark in-game, but dark/flying on the shoddy server?
the only other question I really have at this point is why Yamame is so rare. (uncommon encounter rate in one spot) at the very least I'd expect her to show up again at route 111/mirage tower. (although by that point she'd lose her two moments to shine in the wattson/flannery fights)

Instead of route 111 or the mirage tower, wouldn't it be more logical for her to spawn in the Fiery Path along her "Subterranean Animism pal" ?

Yamame can be found at a decent rarity in Steven's room in Granite Cave. SLilyBlack being a Dark/Flying Type on Shoddy is a bug; she is Mono Dark in vanilla as well.

Chibi Koishi? Yeah, she is very missable. If you miss her, you don't get normal Koishi until Victory Road, and you don't get Chibi Koishi until Post-game Safari Zone. I'm not going to offer my input on where she should or should not appear, but Agastya has stated to me that he has no intention of changing the encounter slots as they currently are.

... I was actually talking of CYamame, but yeah, CKoishi is also quite missable... and now I'm considering playing one along a Yamame in my next run =p

I get the feeling that this is another "nuzlocke nitpick", but I count the steven's room as the same place as the rest of granite cave.
As for lily black, I kinda figured that was the case, considering that the only flying-type move she gets is... gale. (as a chibi, no less)

and to SSS, I can understand Ckoishi since the extra bosses are meant to be rare.

As far as the encounters go, that's really my only nitpick.

Attack Youmu, Dialga and TensokuG.
Out of curiosity, what are their stats / typing ?
Title: Re: touhoumon purple
Post by: Neotornado on August 17, 2014, 04:35:53 AM
Dialga: steel/illusion, focus as the ability, 100/120/120/150/100/90
TensokuG: Steel/flying, Maintenance as the ability, 160/150/150/60/60/60
AYoumu: Same typing as normal youmu, guts as the ability, 130/160/125/120/100/125
(stats are HP/Atk/Def/Satk/SDef/Spd)
I believe the dialga and tensokuG have EV's during the steven fight, but the AYoumu does not. I forget the EV spreads on them, though.

Post by: SSShakuras on August 17, 2014, 12:16:56 PM
So Youmu's a beast ( EDIT : Aka a monster, not the typing =p ) with 130/125/100 bulk. no wonder I had trouble burning her....

Regarding the previous topic ( AKA CYamame ) ,  there's an mistake in the location.txt :
CYamame is available in "Granite cave ( both basement & Steven Room )" and not "Granite cave ( Steven room ).
She seem to be pretty rare outside of steven's room, though.

There's another mistake in the location.txt : there's no wild CTokiko in Route 116 but there's a few CMystia

EDIT : CNazrin is also missing from the Route 111 listing.

If we are going on about readme errors... the EV one recommends that you go for 1 Sp. defense EV's off akyuus in artsian cave. Naturally, akyuus aren't in ancient cave anymore.

And minor, but the nazrins and chens on route 120 are good for 2 speed EV's, maybe you could add that to the list?

I've used a Chrome Shard on a Chibi Hakurei Lv 36 and she evolved in a Sendai Lv 44 . Is that normal ?
Title: Re: touhoumon purple

I've seen that in other games when LW were slow exp formula while Ex just normal exp.

I remember doing nasty stuff with sendai and xp and save editors, so it happens.

wiki show both to be slow exp formula, but I believe one of then was fluctuating

This hack just got updated again as recently as yesterday so I think it should be fine for me to post in this thread even though it hasn't gotten a reply in so long, even if necroing threads is normally a concern (I'm not sure how it gets treated in this community).

I just wanted to give some feedback and say that I really appreciate that you are still updating this hack, as well as that you made it in the first place.  I played it in the past, though I didn't really get very far but hopefully that will change soon.

Sandbox Mode in particular is interesting to me because it opens up so many new possibilities for the player!  Sure, you can use it for game-breaking things if you want, but it is not at all limited to just that.  For example, maybe after you played Puppet Dance Performance, you wanted to try starting with whatever puppet you felt like starting with in Purple, instead of being limited to only the puppets that are available early on.

If I make a rom hack of my own, I probably will draw inspiration from Sandbox Mode in order to give more options to the player, and as a result, hopefully greatly enrich their experience.

Again, thanks so much!

Yay I'm glad it made you happy.  I didn't expect you'd like it that much though, so I feel a little self-conscious somehow but also honoured.  Anyway, you're welcome!
