Title: cuz Shanks wanted a Bug Report thread
Post by: Mille on May 01, 2012, 02:26:06 AM
Go crazy.

Test stuff before posting it. If it crashes the server, do not test it repeatedly. Report it instead, ASAP.

Yes, yes, we know
These moves (http://thpp.supersanctuary.net/wiki/Category:Attacks_Unimplemented_in_Shoddy_2) don't work
Lightningrod doesn't work
You cannot Skill Swap the Traunt ability
Solarbeam ololololol

Wait, what
Something about a Substitute's sprite remaining if the foe Explodes on them, even if the Sub is broken?

EXS Edit: If a bug has been fixed in this thread, I'm going to colorize it like this in the report it was posted in and I will colorize it like this if there's a problem with the report or the bug itself (not enough info, can't reproduce, unfixable, or working as intended) Also note that fixed bugs won't be live immediately most of the time.

Soundproof doesn't block Binding Voice.

Corpse Party used Binding Voice!
It's super effective!
Lyrica lost 384/292 (131%) of its health!
Lyrica fainted!

I'm absolutely positive I wasn't running Sand Veil. That is all.

EDIT: Re-tested. Screenie below. It happened when Lyrica was hit by Binding Voice and when she switched into it.

Drain moves restore HP based on how much damage they did total, even if the target has far less HP than their actual damage. Strict Damage clause won't stop this from happening, either.

Yuyuko used Giga Drain!
It's super effective!
Technical Toyohime lost 111/373 (29%) of its health!
Technical Toyohime fainted!
Yuyuko absorbed health!
Yuyuko regained 25/48 (52%) of its health!
@Irisorchid: healed 186

Okay, so apparently after all that testing, Guard Armor isn't the problem.

-Could be something with Tenma's Guard Armor?
-Something wrong with Psycho Boost?
-Broken damage variant?

Here's the first picture,

And here's the second one..

Upon testing it appears to be related to the White Herb itself. Upon burning the Herb nothing strange happens, but when you switch out and back in you apparently get an invisible boost to the lowered stats by however many stages it was boosted. If you go below "-6" to the client then you're not able to check your own info anymore, and your opponent is able to see your stats as -7/-8.

http://imgur.com/a/o5HDu

EXS: Might not actually be fixed. Will need some testing once this change goes live, which will be on the next server reboot.

If you make Attack Remilia Shiny in the Teambuilder, she moves down a couple of pixels. Not really important, but still . . .

There might be some other puppets that do that too, but I haven't bothered to go down the list just yet.
Title: Special Bloomers doesn't stack correctly with Pure Power or Hustle
Post by: Ichor on June 11, 2012, 04:39:57 AM
The bonuses to attack for special bloomers currently stack additively and not multiplicatively when being held by Ichirin, Flandre, or anything else that has Pure Power or Hustle. A few of us noticed this and realized that in formats such as Little Cup, CIchirin actually misses out on 7 extra attack, which is, frankly, a huge deal. This also allows Choiced Attack Flandre to hit a whopping 1084 attack stat when it has a +attack nature. So there's definitely a noticeable difference when it comes to these 'mons and special bloomers.

Apparently it's just the display that's incorrect; the damage is supposedly accurate according to Iris.

Post by: EXSariel on June 14, 2012, 10:38:21 PM
The client has always been iffy about stat displays, as it never used to support displaying advanced stat changes like that in the team builder. It should display correctly in battle though. (I think...)

Also, use the bug report thread (http://thpp.supersanctuary.net/forum/index.php?topic=15.0) for this kind of thing next time.

Chibi Lyrica, Chibi Merlin, and Chibi Lunasa all have their secondary ability the same as their evolved forms when the Chibi forms should have both Ability 0 and 1 as Soundproof. Whether or not they have their secondary ability is revealed upon evolution, kind of like Chibi Mamizou. Speaking of which, Chibi Mamizou and Chibi Futo still have their sprites swapped.

This isn't that big of a deal, but Guard Armor Chibi Lunasa might be a thing in LC. Who knows?

Solarbeam didn't work for some reason. This happened on turns 13, 14, and 15, and I don't see any reason as to why it wouldn't have worked.

Upon re-testing, trying to replicate the scenario, it worked just fine.

Aromatherapy and Heal Bell lose an extra point of PP for every member of your team that has Pressure, probably since it's 'targeting' them and Pressure is flipping out. It's fully possible to go from 8 PP to 2 PP in a single use.

What's going on there is that the Star had come in before, subbed, then passed on the same turn I broke its sub. I'm guessing its sub status was improperly cleared, although for me it looked like a perfectly normal Star. (I remember you saying that and thought you were talking about the game and it potentially subbing on the switch ;-;)

Looking back at the log, both you and Kaltchre started watching after that turn, while Prinny had been watching from turn one.

I tried installing Shoddy to two different computers, in two different locations and it always gets stuck at 0% during the sprite download phase. Is there a solution to this problem?

Is there a download out there that installs the game without the use of an internet connection?

Using Rain Dance while the opponent is using something with Water Absorb will cause Water Absorb to activate.

I...

I probably should have mentioned this sooner.

...Well, anyway, I've tested to see if something similar happens with Sunny Day and Flash Fire, and I can confirm that it works normally. The problem is only with Rain Dance and W Absorb
Title: Re: cuz Shanks wanted a Bug Report thread
Post by: Naï on August 02, 2013, 03:13:56 PM
Oh. Wait what why. Then it's a Pokemon bug, not a Touhoumon bug... I understand why making it that way'd be intentional in Shoddy, since it's that way in Pokemon to begin with, but I don't understand why Pokemon'd do something like that intentionally.

I think it might be a Pokemon bug that was never fixed out of plain laziness or negligence... I mean, it's not like it never happened before.

Also, what. So a Water Absorb user currently recovers HP if Rain Dance is used?

Also, did you test to see if Sunny Day raised the power of the opponent's fire moves due to Flash Fire (as in, not only by 1.5x, which would be the normal boost, but by 2.25x)? That might be the case, even if no message was triggered.

Using a Banded Pursuit on an opponent switching out does not lock you into Pursuit. Whether or not the target faints doesn't matter.

Using a Banded Pursuit on an opponent switching out does not lock you into Pursuit. Whether or not the target faints doesn't matter.

Isn't this a 3rd Gen staple?

Quote from: Shanks
Using a Banded Pursuit on an opponent switching out does not lock you into Pursuit. Whether or not the target faints doesn't matter.
This is very likely to be intentional, not a bug. See http://thpp.supersanctuary.net/wiki/Pursuit (http://thpp.supersanctuary.net/wiki/Pursuit).

Also, according to Gen III's Choice Band page (http://www.smogon.com/rs/items/choice_band):
Quote from: Smogon
If a Pokemon holding a Choice Band uses Pursuit against an opponent that switches out on the Pursuit user's first use of Pursuit since it switched in, the Pursuit user can select a new move next turn.

So, as Shai said, yes, it is a Gen III staple, and an interesting one at that. It's a nice perk to banded Pursuit users. Since Gen IV banded Pursuit pretty much forces you to switch out or be locked into a 40 BP move, that discourages its use from that generation onwards. And it's not like it's imbalanced as it is.
Title: Re: cuz Shanks wanted a Bug Report thread
Post by: DoctorShanks on August 16, 2013, 09:38:33 PM
Oh, I didn't know that. I always thought it was a gen4 thing. My bad.
Title: Re: cuz Shanks wanted a Bug Report thread
Post by: Naï on August 16, 2013, 09:40:20 PM
Well, Bulbapedia does fail to mention this Gen III perk entirely. Instead, it just mentions that it was like that in Japanese D/P, but that it was fixed in Platinum and in localizations.

Should I report client bugs here, or is it server-only?

I'm on Linux, and use i3. Shoddy doesn't seem to have the appropriate window hints, with the result that (e.g.) the preferences window fits into the fixed layout rather than floating, which is probably more appropriate for a transient settings pane.

Defense Murasa is missing 5 points from her HP stat. It's 80 on Shoddy and Touhou Puppet Play Wiki but 85 everywhere else.
Speed Utsuho is also missing 5 points from her HP stat. It's 70 on Shoddy and Touhou Puppet Play Wiki but 75 everywhere else.
