I guess I haven't looked at them enough, but I can't figure out from the name what they're supposed to be good at. Are they just more rounded than the other forms? That's pretty much all I've got.

Nobody can really pin down what they're supposed to be good at, other than having stat spreads that deviate wildly from their normal form and having a different movepool. For example, Byakuren has great special attack and defense, but Technical Byakuren has great attack and special defense.

I always liked to view Technicals as having their original potential "inverted" or "altered." Like Ichor says, No one really knows the definition of purpose of the Technical Form. As I see it, the Technical Forms always have abilities/roles which differ from their original form.
Not too many of them are very good either. Though some are good, some are doomed to be jacks of all trades - masters of none. For example, no one seems to know the niche of Technical Cirno.
